The purpose of this course is to explore what might make people difficult and or negative in the workplace and beyond and to offer ways to manage such employees. We will examine ways to create and maintain a positive and professional workplace. Hiring, discipline, training, policy administration, leadership, and the human element will be discussed. Options for dealing with a disruptive employee and behavior will be discussed.

About Dr. Jeff Fox
Dr. Jeff Fox served for 27 years in the field of criminal justice, 21 of which were with the VA State Police. He began his law enforcement career as a military policeman in the Army and served as a town police officer, trooper, sergeant, first sergeant, and lieutenant. He served as a field lieutenant with the state police and served as the assistant training director. He served as the statewide incident management program manager for the VA Department of Transportation. Jeff earned a master’s degree in criminal justice administration and an MBA degree with specialization in criminal justice. He earned a PhD in business administration with specialization in homeland security. He is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute Administrative Officers Course and the VA Commonwealth Management Institute. Jeff has been teaching at various colleges and universities since 2001. He retired as the program coordinator and assistant professor for the Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and Criminal Justice Cohort Programs for VCU. Jeff served as an assistant professor and chair of the Public Safety Adult Degree Completion Programs for a private college. He has taught approximately 830 hundred courses in homeland security, emergency management, and criminal justice.
